Our Story
The Monroe Johnson Foundation, Inc. was manifested from the loving memory of our father/grandfather Rev. Monroe Johnson of Louisville Kentucky, native of Alabama. Rev. Johnson founded the Johnson and Barnes Family Reunion over 50 years ago, his motto was “Just Do the Right Thing”. Rev. Johnson wanted (us) his family to continue the tradition of our ancestors of the Dan Robinson Plantation. The Johnson’s were known for being great brick masons, carpenters, and cooks among many other trades. Rev. Johnson embodied the understanding early in life that if you learned a trade-skill you will forever have work, you will eat for a lifetime. His unapologetic love for his family was also extended to the community. He touch everyone who came in his path literally to the day of his passing on January 7, 2016.
The Monroe Johnson Foundation, Inc. wants to extend its hands to communities around the world to continue the legacy of our beloved Rev. Monroe Johnson.
